Michael "Pinball" Clemons

Michael "Pinball" Clemons

ClemonsBorn and raised in Florida, this William and Mary economics graduate began his career in the Canadian Football League in 1989 after a brief stint in the NFL. Renowned as one of pro football's most electrifying players, Clemons compiled a brilliant career, including a pro-football record for most career combined yards with 25,438 and back to back wins as a player in the Grey Cup (Canada's Super Bowl). He retired with 12 all-time team records to his credit and became Head Coach of the Toronto Argonauts. Clemons became the 1st black Head Coach to win the Grey Cup in 96 years. In 2008 he was inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame. When Clemons first joined the Toronto Argonauts in 1989, head coach Bob O'Billovich nicknamed him "Pinball" because of his running style.

Currently, Clemons resides in Oakville, Ontario with his wife Diane (a native Floridian), and three daughters (who were all born in Canada). Clemons' mother was a clerk at a Baptist church in Dunedin and was a heavy influence in Clemons becoming a devout Christian. He is the co founder of the Michael “Pinball” Clemons Foundation which is dedicated to helping under resourced youth and they currently are working with Free the Children’s Adopt a Village Program in an initiative to build 131 schools in 7 under resources countries.

Michael "Pinball" Clemons is an icon of sporting excellence, community leadership, personal character and integrity. He will captivate you with his quiet dignity and boundless energy as he engages you with an unforgettable, often emotional speech that touches on the potential in all of us to achieve anything to which we set our minds.
